Sioux Center slips past Huron

HURON — With a pair of goals in the third period, the Sioux Center Storm escaped with a 2-1 victory against the Huron All-Stars on Saturday at Bergman Arena.
After going scoreless in the opening period, both teams put a goal on the board in the second period.
Lucas Snyder opened the scoring for the All-Stars with  9:37 remaining in the second period, with Walker Schiltz and Spencer Busch earning assists on the play.
Sioux Center was able to even the score with an unassisted gola by Fred Bullock at the 5:03 mark.
The Storm took its first lead of the game with the first goal of the third period. Rylan Brue scored on a power play with Sam DeJong and Drew Vreugdenhil combining on the assist.

Huron would need just over a minute to pull even at 2-2. Xavier Erickson had the goal, with Rei Hoops earning the assist.
Vreugdenhil netted the game winner for Sioux City with 3:02 to play in the game, scoring on a pass from Jonathan VanderWerf.
Blake Cannegieter earned the win in the net for the Storm with 25 saves.
Marty Boetel had 31 saves as the goalie for Huron.
The All-Stars will be back in action Friday, when they host Aberdeen at 7:30 p.m.
On Friday, Huron recorded a 7-5 win against Watertown.
Schiltz had four goals and an assist to lead the All-Stars to the win. Snyder had a pair of goals, while Erickson had the other goal.
Erickson also recorded four asssits, while Busch had a pair of assists. Also earning assists were Jackson Hook  and Carson Duba.
