Sioux Falls earns victory over Lady All-Stars

HURON — The Sioux Falls Flyers had five goals in the opening period en route to a 9-3 win against the Huron Lady All-Stars on Friday at Bergman Arena.

After the Flyers boosted their lead to 6-0, Kylee Small put Huron on the board, scoring on a pass from Devin Hunter.

Sioux Falls would put two more goals on the board before Jolie Carrillo capped the scoring in the second period with a goal for the Lady All-Stars. Small assisted on the play.

Juliana Goethel had the final goal for Huron in the third period on an unassisted shot.

Marissa Ready finished with 25 saves in the net for the Lady All-Stars.

On Sunday, Sioux Center emerged with a 3-1 win against the Lady All-Stars.

Huron is now idle until hosting Brookings on Feb. 12.

SIOUX FALLS — Using a pair of goals in the final period, Sioux Falls edged the Huron All-Stars 3-2 on Friday.
Lucas Sibley put the All-Stars in front with the lone goal of the opening period. Jack Mitchell and Andrew Arteman assisted on the play.

The Flyers managed to pull even in the second period, but Mitchell was able to put Huron back in front 2-1 with a goal just 41 seconds later. Arteman and Haiden McCloud earned assists.

The All-Stars carried the lead into the final period, but a pair of goals late in the third period gave Sioux Falls the win.

The Flyers finished with 68 shots in the game, compared to 18 for Huron. Cooper Letcher recorded 65 saves for the All-Stars.

On Sunday, Huron suffered a 5-0 setback against Sioux Center.

The Storm had a total of 52 shots in the game, with Letcher stopping 47 of them.

The All-Stars had 19 shots on goal.

Huron will host Aberdeen on Jan. 28.
