HURON – American Bank & Trust is giving back to local schools through its Spirit Card program. A Spirit Card is a check card that showcases the school district’s name, colors and mascot.
It is linked to a customer’s checking account and when the account holder makes a purchase with their Spirit Cards, American Bank & Trust donates money back to the school.
The bank recently donated $4,469.88 to the Huron School District. The school will use the funds to help purchase adjustable stools for kindergarten classrooms, turning boards, weight room equipment, art class supplies and gymnastics team spring boards and equipment.

The seventh grade writing class recently published a book. Funds will also be used to purchase a hardcover copy of the book for each student.
Past donations to the Huron School District have helped to buy items such as auditorium speakers, floor chairs for the Tiger Arena, a new Tiger mascot costume, and equipment for intramural sports.
Since 2012, American Bank & Trust has donated a total of $23,367 to the Huron schools through the Spirit Card program.
The cards are available for the Huron Tigers, Wessington Springs Spartans, Miller Rustlers, De Smet Bulldogs and the Wolsey-Wessington Warbirds,
