HURON — Steven J. Quiram, age 64, of Huron, passed away Saturday, August 25, 2018, at the Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, Neb.
A funeral service to celebrate Steve’s life will be 7 p.m., Thursday, August 30, at the Welter Funeral Home in Huron. Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Thursday, with the family present from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Welter Funeral Home.
Steven Quiram, the son of Wilbur and Neva (Rawstern) Quiram, was born May 28, 1954, in Faulkton. He grew up on the family farm west of Wolsey and attended school in Wolsey.
He met the love of his life, Debbie Hunter, in 1977, and married her December 31, 1987. He worked for Duane Struck farm for many years. He worked at Fischer Rock Quarry in Mitchell as a driller and dynamite operator, JD Concrete, and founded Flatland Concrete and later sold his share to his business partner. He then founded Dakota Concrete working until an injury. He enjoyed hunting and fishing in his younger years. He also enjoyed gardening, animals and soap operas. He also loved his family and friends, especially “picking” on his grandchildren.
Grateful for having shared in Steven’s life are his wife, Debbie of Huron; four children, Marty (Mandy) Quiram of Aberdeen, Lisa (special friend Dana) Quiram, Anna (special friend Joe) Quiram, and Steven (special friend Tiffany) Quiram, all of Huron; ten grandchildren, Kylee, Cody, Paisley, Cassie, Brian, Silja, Aliyah, Kingston, Eli, and Silas; three brothers, Lonny (Donna) Quiram, Scott (Maggie) Quiram, and Alan (Barb) Quiram all of Huron; brothers and sisters-in-law, Duane (Suzanne) Hunter of Sioux Falls, Gary (Kathy) Stahl of Iowa, DeeDee (Ed) Wilson and Tanya (Chris) Callahan of Canton, Diane (Kennedy) Ombech, Robert Stahl, Andrea Stahl, and Ginger (Dan) Donavan all of Huron; several nieces and nephews; and many friends.
Steven was preceded in death by his parents; brother in infancy, David Quiram; and his grandparents.
