HURON — Mary Suann Swanson, 61, of Huron and formerly of Hitchcock, passed away Thursday, January 11, 2018, at the Doughety Hospice House in Sioux Falls.
A Celebration of Life for Suann will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. Friday with a prayer service at 2 p.m. by Pastor Lorah Houser Jankord at the Kuhler Funeral Home.
Mary Suann Swanson was born February 11, 1956, in Redfield. She was adopted by Russell and Elizabeth (Wright) Swanson of Hitchcock. She grew up in Hitchcock and graduated from Hitchcock high school in 1975.
Her mother passed away when Suann was 21 years old. Suann took care of her dad until he passed away, and then she moved to Huron. She was a member of the Holy Trinity Catholic Church. She enjoyed reading, word find, crossword puzzles, spending time with family and friends and volunteering at the Senior Center.
She is survived by five sisters, Tammie (Dennis) Lesselyoung of Lennox, Mary (Jeff) Dirringer of Linn Creek, Mo., Cindy Swanston of Sturgis, Sonja (Michael) Beckwith of Sioux Falls, and Laurie Klinghagen of Sioux Falls. Suann held a special place in her heart for Floyd and Laura Eidsness.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and a sister, Sandra Jones; and special friend, Floyd Eidsness.
