Sunshine Bible Academy wins fifth place in 281 Conference Tournament

The Sunshine Bible Academy Crusaders jumped out early and prevented the Wessington Springs Lady Spartans from mounting any comeback, earning a 55-34 win over the Lady Spartans in the fifth-place game of the 281 Conference Tournament on Thursday afternoon.
Lindsey Wilken torched the nets for 23 points to lead the Crusaders, who also got 13 points from Susan Wilken, while Shariah Brockel led the SBA rebounders with nine boards.
Grace Gran led Wessington Springs in scoring with 19 points and Chloe Munsen claimed seven rebounds.
SBA, which improves to 5-5 with the win, will travel to take on Wolsey-Wessington on Tuesday, while Wessington Springs, now 3-7, will return to action Saturday when they take on Alcester-Hudson in Madison.

The James Valley Christian Lady Vikings claimed seventh place at the 281 Conference Tournament on Thursday morning, with a 63-13 win over the Iroquois Lady Chiefs.
JVC goes to 3-8 with the win while Iroquois falls to 0-12.
Brenna Held scored 12 points and collected eight rebounds to lead the Lady Vikings, whle Rebekah Williams scored 11 points. Karilyn Wieting scored 10 and had seven boards and Josalyn Wipf scored 10 points. Alanna Hood also had seven rebounds.
Kaitlyn Maas scored seven points and Allie Diehl grabbed six rebounds to pace the Lady Chiefs’ effort.
Iroquois will host Great Plains Lutheran tonight, while JVC is off until Jan. 27, when it hosts Lake Preston.
