FAULKTON — Sylvia Mae Hoffman, 76, of Faulkton, passed away Friday, July 5, 2019, at the Faulkton Healthcare Nursing Home.
Her funeral service will be 2 p.m., Wednesday, July 10, at the United Methodist Church in Redfield. Following a time for refreshments, burial will be in the Prairie View Cemetery south of Orient. Visitation will be from 12 to 2 p.m. prior to the service at the church.
Sylvia Mae Elyea was born February 18, 1943, in Hyde County to Arthur and Dorothy (Volz) Elyea. She graduated from Miller High School. She was united in marriage to Darrell Hoffman November 14, 1965. She worked at Terry’s Bar in Redfield.
She is survived by her daughter, Kathleen of Redfield; sister, Sharon Clayton of Medina, N.Y.; several brothers and sisters-in-law including, Gladys Allerdings of Huron, Hershell (Norma) Hoffman of Belle Fourche, and Randy Sween of Estelline.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Darrell; her parents; stepfathers, Marvin Carsper, and Don Murphy; siblings, Lois Dal Porto, Joyce Owens, Duane, and Robert; and niece, Christy Elyea.
The family would be grateful for memorials in lieu of flowers.
