ALPENA — Committee members of the Alpena Veterans Memorial wish to thank everyone for their help and support in construction of the memorial wall. The group believes the memorial is a fitting tribute to those from the Alpena community who have served our country.
“So many have reached out to committee members to express satisfaction with the memorial. We are very pleased that you trusted us to get the job done,” the group said. “We certainly couldn’t have done it without the donation of time and money from so many. Special thanks to all who spread the word about the memorial; your help was invaluable.”
This memorial wall will continue to grow. Servicemen and women in the area are encouraged to submit their names to be placed on the wall. The committee is also still collecting pictures for a display in the Alpena Community Center.
Donations for general upkeep, and to install a bench or two are still being accepted. Thank you to everyone who helped make this project a success!
