Three dead, two injured in Woonsocket accident

WOONSOCKET — Three young males died and two other people were injured in a three-vehicle crash that occurred just before 8 p.m. Saturday night east of Woonsocket, at the junction of Highways 34 and 37.
The S.D. Highway Patrol is investigating the accident. Names of those involved are not being released at this time pending notification of family members.

A 2000 Oldsmobile Alero was eastbound on Highway 34, preparing to turn north onto Highway 37. The Alero collided with a 2005 Chevy Trailblazer, which was  westbound on Highway 34, spinning the Alero, which collided with a 2011 Chevy Impala that was at the stop sign on Highway 37.
All three juvenile male passengers of the Alero were pronounced dead at the scene. The 14-year-old male driver was transported to the Mitchell hospital with serious non-life threatening injuries.
The driver of the Blazer, a 46-year-old female, also was taken to the Mitchell hospital with serious non-life threatening injuries.
The two occupants in the third vehicle were not injured.
