WATERTOWN — The S.F. Roosevelt Rough Riders won the Cheer portion of the competition, while the Brandon Valley Lynx took the Dance title Tuesday at the Watertown Cheer and Dance Invitational.
The Rough Riders rolled up 277 points to edge Harrisburg in the final standings. S.F. O’Gorman was third in the team race. Huron’s Cheer team finished with 207.5 points, good for 8th in the final totals.
Brandon Valley won two of the four dance disciplines en route to its win, easily outdistancing S.F. Washington in both Jazz and Pom, while finishing third in Hip Hop to amass 264.83 points and earn the title.
Washington was second - in both Jazz and Pom - and in the final totals, as the Warriors won the Hip Hop category. The final dance area, Kick, was won by Yankton, which was the only team participating.
The Huron Tigers finished 8th in Jazz, sixth in Hip Hop and fifth in Pom, ending with 224.83 points, finishing sixth in the final totals slightly behind Yankton.
Huron will travel to Pierre on Saturday for the Pierre Invitational.
