MITCHELL – The Mark Wendelgass Relays were held Friday at Joe Quintal Field in Mitchell.

The event was originally scheduled for Thursday at Tiger Stadium, but was postponed and moved

The Huron boys’ medley relay team of Landon Hulst, Quenton Walls, Thackary Hansen, and TJ Lien won their race with a time of 4:06.91. Walls was also victorious in the long jump with a leap of 19 feet, 11.5 inches.

The Tigers girls’ 4x800 relay team of Josie Vlieger, Ellie Puterbaugh, Hamtyn Heinz, and Tatum Peterson broke the tape with a time of 11:53.65.

Next up for the Huron teams is the Class AA State Track and Field Championships, which being Thursday at Howard Wood Field in Sioux Falls.
