ABERDEEN — The Mitchell Kernels easily won the ESD Conference tennis title Thursday, winning two singles titles and amassing 355 points. Brandon Valley was a distant second with 216 points and Aberdeen Central was third with 169, edging Yankton by five points.
The Huron Tigers finished in 7th place with 45 points on the day.
Huron was led on the day by Eh Kalu’s third place finish at the No. 6 singles, as he defeated Karter Lein of Harrisburg 8-5 in the third-place match.

Reese Uecker won his play-in match, but fell to top seed - and eventual champion Dalton Rittershaus of Brookings in the second flight.
In the consolation round, however, Uecker won two straight matches including an 8-5 win over Nic Allen of Aberdeen Central to take fifth place and the consolation championship.
The other four Huron singles players all suffered two straight losses in the tournament and were eliminated.
All three Tiger doubles teams faced similar fates, losing two matches and finding themselves eliminated.
