HURON — The Huron Tiger gymnastics team opened its 2022-23 season Tuesday night, when the Brookings Bobcats came to the Tiger Activity Center.

“This was a good beginning to this year’s Tiger team,” said Huron head coach Julie King. “We definitely have some areas that we need to focus on going forward, but I am extremely proud of them for their first meet!”

The Bobcats eked out a 130.40 to 122.10 win in the team competition, led by the All-Around championship performance from Layla Erickson, whose 33.750 topped all competitors. Teammate Jessica Fourney was next with a 32.70 and Huron’s Eastyn Eichstadt tallied a 31.70 for third.
