Tigers qualify seven for state

ABERDEEN - Seven Huron Tigers wrestlers earned their way to the state meet next week in Sioux Falls while another four qualified as potential alternates with action at the Region 3A wrestling tourney on Saturday.
Tyson Lien was the lone Tiger grappler to take a region championship Saturday, winning at the 170 weight class.
Moses Gross at 106 and Blake Larsen at 182 both finished second at their weight class.

Lucas Hofer at 145 and Tristan Cardona at 220 finished third.
Finally Colt Dunkelberger at 113 pounds and Will Radke at 120 pounds each finished fourth in their respective weight classes.
The région tournaments wrestle out to a 5th place match to determine alternates in the situation that one of those that earned a spot from the region would be unable to participate.
Huron has two first alternates in Kamaron ChrIstensen at 195 pounds and Sebastian Cardona at 285 pounds, each of whom finished fifth in their weight class.
Finishing sixth and qualifying as a second alternate in their weight class were Jaren Sammons at 126 pounds and Dominic Aviles at 132.
The Tigers finished sixth in the region as a team. Pierre won the team points at the regional meet.
