The winner of the wood-carved bear raffle will be announced during Huron’s volleyball match tonight against Brookings, which is scheduled for 7 p.m. at Huron Arena. Jeff Dahr, a long-time bus driver in the Huron School District, has donated a bear for the raffle for the past nine years. Dahr will be recognized during tonight’s match for receiving the “Acts of Excellence” Award, which is given by the South Dakota Hall of Fame. Also being recognized during tonight’s match will be the Huron seventh- and eighth-grade volleyball teams, who won Big Four Tournament titles on Saturday. It’s the first year a Huron team has won the Big Four title since 2009 and the first time since 2006 that both Huron teams claimed the Big Four title.
