MITCHELL — The Watertown Arrow boys and Brandon Valley girls won team titles at the soggy ESD Track and Field Meet, held Saturday in rainy weather at Joe Quintal Field.
Watertown amassed 168.5 points to outpace Aberdeen Central’s 147, while Brandon Valley finished third with 137.
Huron’s boys garnered 18.5 points, to finish ninth in the race.
Matthew Katz and Frank Hines were the lone individual placers for Huron on Saturday. Katz cleared 13-feet, 9-inches in the pole vault to take second place in the event and Hines was eighth in the event with a vault of 12-3.
Huron’s Medley relay finished third, its 1600-meter relay team was seventh and the 400-relay claimed eighth-place in the standings.
In the girls’ race, Brandon Valley rolled up 159 points to easily outdistance Aberdeen Central, which tallied 113.5.
Harrisburg finished two points back in third place. The Huron Tiger girls also finished ninth in the team standings, gathering 10 points in the rainy conditions.
All of the Tiger’s points in the girls’ race came via relays.
The Medley relay team finished third, the 400-meter relay team took sixth and the 1600-meter relay team carried the baton to an 8th place finish.
Huron will host the Mark Wendelgass Relays on Thursday at Tiger Stadium. Action begins at 3:30
