Tress Arlene (Koukal) Peterson, age 92, of Plattsmouth, Neb.

PLATTSMOUTH, Neb. — Tress Arlene (Koukal) Peterson, age 92, of Plattsmouth, Neb., peacefully passed away surrounded by her family on Thursday, November 11, 2021, at Hillcrest Country Estates in Papillion, Neb.
Tress was born on February 15, 1929, to Emil Anton and Edythe Genevieve (Kelley) Koukal in Plattsmouth, Neb. She was raised and schooled in Plattsmouth and graduated from Plattsmouth High School with the class of 1946. After graduation she worked as a secretary at a brokerage firm in Omaha. Tress met the love of her life, Harold James Peterson Jr. and they married November 15, 1947, at St. John’s Catholic Church in Plattsmouth. Tress and Harold made their home and raised their seven children in Plattsmouth. Tress was a homemaker and loving mother and devoted her entire life to her family. She later worked at the Glenwood State School.
She was a lifelong resident of Plattsmouth and member of the Church of the Holy Spirit and the Catholic Daughters and was proud of her Bohemian heritage.
Tress is survived by her two sons: James “Jim” Peterson and wife, Colleen of Eagle, Neb.; Kenneth Peterson and wife, Laura of Plattsmouth, Neb.; five daughters: Mary Roubicek and husband, Chuck of Waterloo, Neb.; Patty Bond and Tony Palumbo of Plattsmouth, Neb.; Kristine Timerman of Plattsmouth, Neb.; Teri Mack and husband, Barry of Huron; Jackie Carnes and husband, Sam of Plattsmouth, Neb; 21 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law: Darlene Peterson of Plattsmouth, Neb.; Donna Jean Patton of Missouri; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who loved her as she loved them and will miss her kind heart, spunky attitude, and famous Christmas tea rings every day.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Emil and Edythe Koukal, her husband: Harold Peterson Jr., her sister and brother-in-law: Marilyn March and husband Don, brother-in-law and sister-in-law: Gilbert Peterson and wife, Marilyn; two brothers-in-law: Wendell Peterson; Al Patton; and son-in-law: Mike Timerman.   
Visitations will be held from 1 to 5 p.m., with the family greeting relatives and friends from 3 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, November 14, 2021, at Roby Funeral Home in Plattsmouth.
A Rosary with eulogy will be held at 7 p.m. on Sunday, November 14, 2021, at the Church of the Holy Spirit in Plattsmouth.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, November 15, 2021, (*November 15 is Harold and Tress’s 74th wedding anniversary*) at the Church of the Holy Spirit with Father Michael Houlihan officiating.
The Pallbearers will be grandsons: Jay Peterson, Brett Peterson, Tyler Peterson, Matt Roubicek, Adam Peterson, Rick Eledge, Broc Eledge, Christopher Timerman, Brian Timerman, Beau Mack, Carter Mack, and Brandon Carnes.
The Honorary Pallbearers will be granddaughters: Erica Tucker, Kim Roubicek, Erin Slavin, Melicca Carpenter, Theresa Timerman, Sloane Mack, and Maura Carnes.
Her Final Resting Place will be next to her husband at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Plattsmouth.
The Family suggests Memorials to St. John the Baptist School or Church of the Holy Spirit.
