REDFIELD — A sixth consecutive win was recorded by the Mt. Vernon-Plakinton Titans after a 37-29 victory over the Redfield-Doland Pheasants in Class “A” girls’ basketball action on Tuesday night in Redfield.
Dacey Rihaner and Emilee Fox each tallied 11 points to lead the Titans, now with an improved record of 6-2 on the season.
The Pheasants were led by Kailee Clausen with a game-high of 14-points, while Hannah Keuhn added seven more for the team. Redfield-Doland fell to a 7-3 season record with the loss.
Redfield-Doland will travel to Sisseton on Friday.

HAYTI — The Hamlin Chargers raced to a 10-point lead after the first quarter and held the margin through the remainder of the game, evening their record at 4-4 with a 67-56 win over the De Smet Bulldogs Tuesday night in boys’ basketball action.
Connor Bawdon scored 24 points, Nash Grantham scored 18 and Devan Weelborg scored 11 points, grabbed 11 rebounds and handed out five assists for the Chargers.
Trevin Holland led the Bulldogs, who fall to 7-2, with 18 points and eight rebounds. Kalen Garry added 15 points for De Smet, who will host Sioux Valley on Tuesday.

REDFIELD — The Mt. Vernon-Plankinton Titans boys’ basketball team escaped with a 54-50, come-from-behind win over the Redfield-Doland Pheasants.
The Titans held a slim lead at the half, but Redfield-Doland outscored the visitors 17-8 in the third quarter to take a lead to the final period. MVP caught fire in the fourth quarter and came back for the win.
Rylee Deinart scored 19 points and Nolan Sampson added 13 as the Titans moved to 3-6 on the season.
Redfield-Doland was led by Mic Utecht’s 20 points, as the Pheasants fall to 5-4. R-D travels to Sisseton Friday night.
