HURON — Vernon C. Timperley, 92, of Huron, passed away Wednesday, May 31, 2017, at Cherrywood Assisted Living in St. Cloud, Minn.
His memorial service will be at 1:30 p.m., Saturday, June 3, at the First United Methodist Church in Huron with military honors conducted by the Huron Veterans Council. Burial will be 11 a.m., Saturday in the Riverside Cemetery. Visitation will be today from 1 to 7 p.m. at the Kuhler Funeral Home with his family present from 5 to 7 p.m.  this evening. 
Vernon Clair Timperley was born on Sept 15, 1924, to Albert and Esther (Ingle) Timperley. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, the American Legion, the United Transportation Union, and was an active volunteer for Meals on Wheels.
He is survived by his son, Steven and his wife, Cindy of Deerfield, Ill.; daughter, Debra Timperley and husband, Joseph Byrne of St. Cloud, Minn.; stepdaughters, Kim (Galen) Waldner of Carpenter, and stepdaughter, Robin (Martin) Jarret of Madison; stepson, Mike (Marilyn) Melstad of Red Wing, Minn.; fourteen grandchildren; and fourteen great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Shirley (Best) Timperley; his second wife, Kathy Melstad; his brother, Laurence; and his sister, Lorena Geyerman.
