HURON _— Veronica R. Reilly, 89, of Huron, passed away Saturday, May 11, 2019, at SunQuest Healthcare Center.
Her Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m., Thursday, May 16, at Holy Trinity Catholic Parish with burial in St. Martins Cemetery. Visitation with her family present will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Welter Funeral Home in Huron with a scripture prayer service and Rosary service beginning at 6:30 p.m., or visitation one hour prior to the service on Thursday.
Veronica Rose Fasbender was born October 21, 1929, to parents Benjamin and Florence (Davis) Fasbender in Hendricks, Minn. Veronica attended country school near White and graduated from Brookings High School. She then attended Mount Marty College in Yankton, obtaining her Teacher’s Certificate.
Veronica married Matthew Reilly June 3, 1950, in White. Veronica worked at The Plains, The Barn, Crossroads Hotel, and Super 8. She enjoyed sewing, making blankets, gardening, traveling. She also loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Veronica was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Parish.
She is survived by her children, John (Pam) of Appleton, Wisc., Joe (Carrie) of Huron, Mary (Roy) Mehling of Wessington, Paul (Vada) of Colorado Springs, Colo., Vern of Hartford, Teresa of Yankton, Mark (Patti) of Lawrenceville, Ga., Dennis of San Diego, Calif., Earl (Cindy) of Dalton, Neb., Vincent (Patricia) of Sioux Falls, David (Colette) of Parker, Colo., and Daniel (Jacque) of Northglenn, Colo.; 22 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews; and sister-in-law, Betty Reilly of Huron.
Veronica was preceded in death by her parents; infant son, Leo; granddaughter, Amanda Reilly; three sisters, Sister Bennett, Sister Ann and Sister Veronica; one brother and sister-in-law, James (MaryAnn) Fasbender; and one son-in-law, Dennis Cronin.
