VFW gives $500 to Redfield High School choir

Choir invited to perform in Pearl Harbor on Dec. 7

REDFIELD — The Redfield High School Choir has been asked to travel to Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, and sing during the celebration on Dec. 7.
Forty choir members and eight adults will be traveling to Pearl Harbor from Dec. 4-9. They will perform a 25-minute concert on the USS Missouri, as well as performing with a mass choir for the opening ceremony.
They will tour also Diamond Head, Pali Lookout, North Shore Beaches, the Polynesian Cultural Center and the USS Arizona and Missouri.

The choir will also participate in the Pearl Harbor Parade.
The group has been actively working to raise money for the trip through donations and fundraisers. Donations can be sent to the Redfield Choir in care of Redfield Public School, 502 E. Second St., Redfield, S.D. 57469.
