WHITE — The Hitchcock-Tulare Lady Patriots worked hard for a 3-1 win against the James Valley Christian Lady Vikings in the region 3B quarterfinals volleyball match Tuesday night.
Set scores for the Patriots were 25-21, 25-22, 24-26 and 25-19.
Leading the Patriots was Baylee Enander with 11 kills and 25 digs, Ally Binger hit seven kills and one ace, while Liz Salmen got three aces. Dawsyn Otto hit seven kills and had one assisted block for the Patriots, while Kenidee Enander made 12 assists and Ashlyn Otto made 30 digs.
The Vikings were led by Alaina Dale with 16 kills and 21 blocks, while Allison Blom and AbbyRose Miller both had two aces. Angie Zuccaro hit 10 kills, while Julia Blom hit nine kills and 14 blocks. Bekah Williams made 23 assists for the Vikings.
The Hitchcock-Tulare Lady Patriots will take on the Deubrook Area Lady Dolphins Thursday night.

Ethan 3, Sanborn Central-Woonsocket 1
MADISON — The Ethan Rustlers took down the Sanborn Central-Woonscoket Blackhawks in four sets, Tuesday night at the region 4B quarterfinals in Madison.
The Blackhawks had a good start winning the first set but fell in the last three. Set scores for the Rustlers were 23-25, 25-20, 25-14 and 25-16.
Tesa Jensen hit 12 kills for the Blackhawks, also made four digs and one block, while Abby Doering hit nine kills, one ace, seven digs and three blocks. Erica Howard hit 10 kills and made four defensive digs, while Madi Moody made 21 digs and four assists. Tristan Ziebart made 24 asssits and seven digs for the Blackhawks.
The Rustlers were led by Jada Plastow with 18 kills and three aces, while Cameryn Logan hit four kills and four aces. Karly Gustafson hit 13 kills, three digs and five blocks. Jessica Bartscher hit three kills, two aces and 36 assists. Maddie Miiller made 23 digs, while Mollie Miiller hit three kills and made seven digs.

Ethan will take on the Hanson Beaverettes on Thursday at Madison for more Class “B” volleyball action.

REDFIELD — The Redfield-Doland Pheasants opened play in the 2017 volleyball post season on Tuesday, with a resounding 3-0 win (25-6, 25-12, 25-9) over the Tiospa Zina Wambdi.
Redfield-Doland will host the winner of the Aberdeen Roncalli vs. Sisseton match on Tuesday, for a trip to the Class “A” Sweet 16. The Pheasants have a record of 21-8, while the Wambdi ends the season at 6-18.
Rylie Gall had eight kills, and Autumn Turck added six for the Pheasants, while Addie Rozell haD four aces, and Kennedy Fast chipped in a pair of aces, while also passing out 15 set assists in the game.
No statistics were available for Tiospa Zina.

Monday’s matches
Castlewood 3, Wessington Springs 1
DE SMET — The Castlewood Warriors defeated the Wessington Springs Lady Spartans and the James Valley Christian Lady Vikings eliminated the Iroquois Lady Chiefs Monday night in the opening round of play in the Region 3B volleyball tournament.
Castlewood downed Wessington Springs 3-1 (25-20, 22-25, 25-16, 25-19) and will move on to play top-seeded Arlington.
The Warriors got 11 kills and 18 digs from Regan Veniki and five aces each from Alyna Benike and Morgan Anderson, to move to 9-13 on the season. Abbey Strait had 14 assists and 14 digs in the game.
Maddie Neely had a match-high 13 kills and contributed 21 digs for the Lady Spartans, who see their season end with a record of 7-20. Piper Jones had nine kills and three aces, while Cadee Schelske also had three aces.
Chasity Vissia had 34 assists in the game.

JVC 3, Iroquois 0
James Valley Christian ended the Lady Chiefs season with a 3-0 (25-13, 25-3, 25-13) win.
JVC moves to 14-10 and will face third-seeded Hitchcock-Tulare in the regional quarterfinals, while Iroquois ends the season 0-24.
For the Lady Vikings, Alaina Dale had 10 kills while Allison Blom added eight. AbbyRose Miller had eight aces and Angie Zuccuro chipped in six.
Bekah Williams handed out 18 assists on the night.
