Redfield 3, Sisseton 0
REDFIELD — The Redfield-Doland Pheasants raced to a 25-14, 25-10, 25-20 win over the Sisseton Redmen, in opening round play at the Region 1A volleyball tournament Tuesday night. Redfield-Doland moves to 20-6 with the win, while Sisseton’s season ends with a record of 9-20.
Olivia Shantz powered the Pheasant attack as she had 16 kills and two blocks in the match. Hannah Kuehn had 21 set assists and also stroked a pair of aces. Eve Millar had three aces, Addision Rozell had two blocks and Kailee Clausen led the defense with 15 digs in the match.
For Sisseton, Kellie Karst had six kills and three blocks. Kelsey Heath had sis assists and led the Redmen with 12 digs, while also collecting two aces.
Redfield-Doland will face either Aberdeen Roncalli or Tiospa Zina Thursday night, with the site to be determined.

Region 4B

Hanson 3, Sanborn Central-Woonsocket 1
MADISON — The Hanson Beaverettes took four games, but persevered Tuesday night for a 3-1 win over the Sanborn Central-Woonsocket Blackhawks, in Region 4B volleyball action. Set scores for Hanson were 25-13, 24-26, 25-22 and 25-16. Hanson, now 13-15 on the season, will face top-seeded Chester Area Thursday in Madison. Sanborn Central-Woonsocket ends the year 16-12.
Hanson was led by Morgan Huber’s 13 kills, while Josie Barscher, Ellie Tuscher and Brianna Weber each notched 11 kills on the night. Megan Guericke had five aces and 19 digs, while Abby Kortan chipped in four aces. Jacy Waldera had 33 set assists and Barscher led the Beaverettes with four blocks.
For the Blackhawks, Erica Howard and Tesa Jensen each registered 13 kills in the match. Madi Moody had 27 set assists, while Kaylee White had 10 assists, two aces and led the SC-W defense with 24 digs. Abby Vermeulen also had 18 digs and Shannon Linn contributed two blocks.
Other Region 4B action found Chester Area downing Mitchell Christian 25-11, 25-11 and 25-8; Ethan derailed Dell Rapids St, Mary 25-13, 25-8 and 25-15; and Colman-Egan outlasted Elkton-Lake Benton 18-25, 36-24, 25-22 and 25-23.

Region 3B
ARLINGTON and WHITE — It was not a good night for area volleyball teams at the Region 3B tournament on Tuesday night.
Top-seeded Arlington blanked James Valley Christian 3-0 (25-7, 25-9, 25-19), while second-seeded Deubrook Area dispatched the Wessington Springs Lady Spartans 3-0 (25-9, 25-9, 25-9), fourth seeded Hitchcock-Tulare suffered a five-set upset to fifth seeded Castlewood, with set scores of17-25, 25-13, 16-25, 25-17 and 15-9 for the winners, and No. 6 Wolsey-Wessington fell in straight sets to Estelline-Hendricks, 25-16, 25-22 and 25-18.
Arlington will play Castlewood and Deubrook Area will tangle with Estelline-Hendricks, with both matches taking place Thursday in De Smet, beginning at 6 p.m.

Highmore-Harrold 3, Sunshine Bible Academy 0
HIGHMORE — The Highmore-Harrold Pirates defeated the Sunshine Bible Academy Crusaders 3-0 Monday night, in an opening round game in Region 2B. Set scores for the Pirates were 25-18, 25-7 and 25-18. H-H, now 11-16, will face second seeded Sully Buttes in the quarterfinals, while SBA closes the books on a 2-20 season.
Haley Husted had eight kills an Grace Knox added six kills, five aces and nine digs to pace the Pirates. Sydney Marson had four aces and Halle Tvedt handed out 17 set assists. Kassie Hale led the Highmore-Harrold defense with 10 digs.
Lindsey Wilken had three kills, two blocks and 21 digs to lead the Crusaders. Victoria Paul had 12 digs and Dori Brockel chipped in 11. Abby Haun led SBA with four set assists.
