MILLER — The Wessington Springs Lady Spartans defeated the Sunshine Bible Academy Crusaders 3-0 in 281 Conference volleyball action Tuesday night. Set scores for the Lady Spartans were 25-19, 25-18 and 25-11. Wessington Springs moves to 11-8 with the win while SBA falls to 2-16.
Trinity Flowers had eight kills and Grace Gran contributed seven for the Lady Spartans. Maddie Neely added four ace serves in the match, while Chasity Vissia had 21 set assists. Piper Jones had three blocks and Makayla Dornbursch and Sierra Burg each were credited with eight digs.
SBA was led by Lindsey Wilken’s 9 kills and 18 digs in the match. Aja Paul had two aces and Abby Haun passed out 10 assists. Victoria Paul and Dori Brockel each had 12 digs.
SBA will travel to James Valley Christian on Thursday, while Wessington Springs will also be on the road, traveling to Wolsey-Wessington for a Thursday night matchup.

FORESTBURG — The Sanborn Central-Woonsocket Blackhawks swept the James Valley Christian Lady Vikings 3-0 Tuesday night, in 281 Conference volleyball action. Set scores for SC-W were 25-16, 25-22 and 25-18.
The Blackhawks were led by Shannon Linn and Eric Howard, as each player had eight kills in the match. Tesa Jensen added seven kills and a block, while Madi Moody had 18 assists and 18 digs.
Kaylee White had nine assists and 13 digs, while Tory Reinders had four aces. Abby Vermeulen and Howard each had two aces.
JVC was led by Angelina Zucarraro’s 10 kills and two aces in the match. Julia Blom and Josalyn Wipf each had five digs, while Rebekah Williams passed out 20 assists and had two aces.
The Lady Vikings, who fall to 9-10 with the loss, will host SBA on Thursday, while the Blackhawks are on the road Thursday, traveling to Kimball-White Lake.

KIMBALL — The Class A second ranked Miller Rustler volleyball team notched its 17th straight win Monday night, going on the road and pounding the Kimball-White Lake WiLdKats 3-0 in non-conference action. Set scores for the 22-2 Rustlers were 25-15, 25-13 and 25-17. K-WL falls to 14-7 with the loss.
Kayde Fernholz filled the Miller stat sheet Tuesday, collecting 20 kills, six blocks (three solo, three assisted) and added nine digs on the night. Rachel Oligmueller was successful on 91 of her 92 setting opportunities, and ended the night with 34 assists and nine digs. VonnaGail Schlechter led the defense with 13 digs and matched that number in the kill department. Elise Brooks had two aces and Kailen Krause added one.
