MILLER — The Lower Brule Lady Sioux escaped with a 3-1 victory, after a four set battle with the Sunshine Bible Academy Crusaders in Class B volleyball action on Tuesday night in Miller.
Set scores for the Lady Sioux were 2-16, 25-19, 19-25, 25-16, improving the team’s season record to 4-2, while the Crusaders fell to 0-7 with the loss.
Lindsey Wilken hit 10 kills and three blocks for the Crusaders, Beth Konechne and Hannah Appel each made two aces, while Shariah Brockel hit six kills as each team member put in their competitive skills to attempt the win, but were unable to recover.
The Sunshine Bible Academy Crusaders are set to play the Sully Buttes Chargers on Thursday, when the team will travel to Onida.

Hitchcock-Tulare 3, Iroquois 0
HITCHCOCK — A 3-0 match score led the Hitchcock-Tulare Lady Patriots the win over the Iroquois Chiefs during the volleyball action on Tuesday night.
The Lady Patriots had set scores 25-21, 25-9, 25-8, to improve its record to 7-5 on the season, while the Chiefs fell to an 0-11 record with the loss.
Elizabeth Salmen took her individual statistics into the double digits as she totaled 11 aces and 11 digs, Dawsyn Otto tallied eight kills and one ace, while Cassidy Johnson recorded four kills for the Lady Patriots.
Iroquois’ Hayley Geyer and Hannah Hofhenke each hit two kills for the Chiefs, Noah Rogers made three aces and Kenidee Enander tallied 24 assists for the team.
Hitchcock-Tulare will travel to Miller on Thursday to take on the Rustlers, while Iroquois are set to go to Woonsocket for a match against the Sanborn Central-Woonsocket Blackhawks.
