CORSICA – The Wolsey-Wessington Warbirds, the top-ranked team in Class “9B”, scored a big 42-6 victory over Corsica-Stickney on the road Friday night.
The Warbirds (4-0) were led by Corbin Haarmeyer with 124 yards passing and 67 yards rushing on the evening. Marty Gohn led Wolsey-Wessington with 99 yards rushing.
Tristan Abbott grabbed a touchdown reception and totaled 78 yards receiving for Wolsey-Wessington.
The Warbirds defensive attack was led by Ethan Nelson with 10 tackles and Keegan Haider with nine tackles and a sack.
Corsica-Stickney (1-3) had a solid all-around game from Caden VanDrongelen, who led the team with 70 yards rushing and 10 tackles.
Wolsey-Wessington travels next week to Platte to take on Platte-Geddes.
