ROCHERT, Minn. — Warren C. Koester, 74, of Rochert, Minn., passed away Friday, June 16, 2017, at his home under the care of Red River Valley Hospice.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Saturday, July 1, at David-Donehower Funeral Home in Detroit Lakes, Minn. with Gary and Connie Pieske officiating. Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. with a time of sharing at 7 p.m. Friday at David-Donehower Funeral Home. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the funeral home. A second Memorial Service will be held Friday, July 7, at 11 a.m. at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Flandreau. Interment will be held in Union Cemetery at Flandreau.
Warren Conrad Koester was born August 21, 1942, in Pipestone, Minn. to Walter and Ruth (Chamberlin) Koester. He lived in Huron and bought livestock for Armour Packing Company.  While in Huron, he was director of the South Dakota State Fair Carcass Shows and was a judge for various county 4-H livestock shows.
He is survived by his two sons, Greg (Kelly) Koester, and Joe Koester all of Tucson, Ariz.; six grandchildren, Jenni (Kurt) Pulazinski, Elliot Koester, Katie Koester, Lincoln Koester, Chelsea Koester, and Pepper Koester; and one great-grandchild, Alex.
