Watertown rallies past Tigers

BROOKINGS — Watertown rallied in the sixth inning to get past Huron 3-2 in the opening round of the Region 1A spring baseball playoffs on Monday at Bob Sheldon Field in Brookings.
John Day and Micah Kauffman each finisehd with a pair of hits and both had doubles for the Arrows.
Blake Holden held the Tigers scoreless during the final two innings to earn the win on the mound. He allowed just one hit, with one strikeout and two walks.

Tyler Fairchild started on the mound for Watertown, allowing two runs on three hits with five strikeouts and four walks.
A double by Parker DeJean accounted for one of the four Huron hits in the game. Chipper Shillingstad, Sam Kretschmar and Jacob Wehde also had hits.
DeJean started and pitched into the seventh inning for the Tigers, allowing two runs on five hits, with four strikeouts and three walks.
Emerson DeVries came on in relief for Huron, allowing one run on one hit with a pair of walks.
Watertown advanced to face top-seeded Brookings in the Region 1A title game on Monday.
