Wedel earns GPAC honor for Wildcats

ORANGE CITY — Former James Valley Christian standout Nathan Wedel was named this week’s Great Plains Athletic Conference Player of the Week.
Wedel helped fifth-ranked Northwestern College to wins against Presentation and Doane last week.
The 6-4 senior from Yale, averaged 26 points and 6.5 rebounds in the two games. He shot 83 percent and 27 points in the GPAC opener against Doane.

Wedel also had four assists, two blocks and a pair of steals in the game.
The Wildcats defeated Hastings on Tuesday to improve to 7-0.
Northwestern will face Mt. Marty in Yankton on Jan. 3 and then play at Dakota Wesleyan in Mitchell on Feb. 14.
