Wiegel leads Tigers in Watertown

WATERTOWN — Huron’ golfer Nolan Wiegel shot a 75 on Monday to finish tied for fourth in Watertown Invitational at Cattail Crossing Golf Course.
Sam Batta of Watertown won the event with a 69, while Lucas Schaefbauer of Aberdeen Roncalli and Jonah Dohrer of Aberdeen Central were second and third, respectively, with scores of 72 and 73.
Drew Reiner of Harrisburg also shot a 75 to share the fourth spot with Wiegel.
Will Smith carded an 84 for the Tigers, while Mason Rozell finished at 86.

Jacob Wehde and Nathan Gauer had scores of 93 and 94, respectively, and Marty Boetell finished at 103.
Aberdeen Central finished at 308 to defeat Aberdeen Roncalli by four strokes for the team title.
Harrisburg and Watertown were just a stroke behind the Cavaliers to share the thrid spot. Mitchell was fifth at 322.
Huron was 11th in the 12-team field with a score of 338.
The Tigers are now off until the Eastern South Dakota Conference Meet on Sept. 25 in Harrisburg.
