HOT SPRINGS — Winnie (Winifred) A. Hofer, 92, of Hot Springs, passed away Monday, July 29, 2019, in Fort Collins, Colo.
A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 10, at the United Churches in Hot Springs. Burial will follow at the Evergreen Cemetery in Hot Springs.
Winnie was born Jan. 3, 1927, in Beadle County, to Mike B and Anna (Gross) Hofer, and graduated from Willow Lake High School in 1945.
She married Ruben S. Hofer in 1946. They farmed in Beadle and Clark counties until they bought their own farm in 1961, near Carpenter.
The couple relocated to Hot Springs and built their own home on an acreage in the Black Hills.
She is survived by her children, Arlene Mason of Brush, Colo., Peggy Fox and Charlotte Hofer of Fort Collins, colo., Tom (Judy) Hofer of Hot Springs; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; sisters, Florence Glanzer; Elvira Walter and Pearl Hofer.
A memorial has been designated in her name to benefit the United Churches of Hot Springs.
Arrangements have been placed with Chamberlain McColley’s Funeral Home in Hot Springs.
