WOONSOCKET — Zelma Mae Kneen, 86 of Woonsocket, formerly of Artesian, passed away Tuesday, February 19, 2019, at the Prairieview Healthcare Center in Woonsocket.
Her funeral service will be 11 a.m., Saturday, February 23, at the Welter Funeral Home in Huron with burial in Restlawn Memory Gardens. Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at the Welter Funeral Home with a prayer service to begin at 6:30 p.m., or visitation one hour prior to the service.
Zelma Wormstadt was born September 22, 1932, in Huron to Fred and Irene (Tompkins) Wormstadt. She graduated from Forestburg High School in 1951, and was united in marriage to Orie Kneen March 7, 1952. The couple famed near Artesian. She was a member of the Lutheran Church in Forestburg and the American Cancer Society.
She is survived by her children, Arthur (Audrey) Kneen of Artesian, Robert (Velma) Kneen of Forestburg, JoAnne (Terry) Powers of Lewis, Kan., and Jerry (Roylene) Kneen of Mitchell; 13 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; sister, Melva (Harold) Jastram of Surprise, Ariz.; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Orie; grandson, Matt Yule; two grandchildren in infancy; and siblings, Lester Wormstadt, Helen Baker.
