Hitchcock-Tulare 3, Wolsey-Wessington 0
TULARE — While it was a three-set sweep, the third-ranked Hitchcock-Tulare Lady Patriots had their hands full to turn away the Wolsey-Wessington Lady Warbirds in straight sets.

Set scores for the Lady Patriots, now 7-0, were 25-22, 25-22, and 25-19.

Katelyn Schroeder led Hitchcock-Tulare with 19 kills on 34 of 36 hitting.

Lila Johnson was 53 of 56 setting with 22 assists. Cambree Hoekman led the defense with 13 digs.

The Lady Warbirds fall to 2-2 despite a strong game from Samara Clemente, who had 11 kills on 21 of 24 hitting and four blocks. Shae Uttecht had 15 digs to lead the W-W defense and Kendal Uttecht was 55 of 55 setting with 18 assists.

The Lady Warbirds will host a tournament in Wolsey on Saturday while the Lady Patriots will travel to Clark for a tournament hosted by Clark/Willow Lake Saturday.

Wessington Springs 3, Howard 0
WESSINGTON SPRINGS — The Wessington Springs Lady Spartans earned a 25-14, 25-17, and 25-18 sweep over the Howard Tigers Thursday in Wessington Springs.

The Lady Spartans move to 3-2 behind six kills and three blocks from Kaitlyn Braun. Mariah Messmer set up the Springs offense with 22 assists and Remie Roduner led the defense with 21 digs.

Howard (1-5) was led by Tana Hoyer with five kills and two blocks.

Wessington Springs travels to Woonsocket Tuesday to face Sanborn Central/Woonsocket.

Clark/Willow Lake 3, Webster Area 1
CLARK — The Clark/Willow Lake Cyclones pushed their season mark to 5-2 Thursday night, downing the Webster Area Bearcats 3-1 (25-8, 20-25, 25-12 and 25-21) in volleyball action.

Shay Michalski notched 17 kills and recorded three blocks to lead the Cyclone attack. Tehya Vig added 10 kills, while Sami Brenden had 35 assists and four ace serves in the game. Kate Larson led the defense with 31 digs.

C/WL plays at Florence/Henry on Tuesday.

Corsica-Stickney 3, James Valley Christian 0
CORSICA — The Corsica-Stickney Jaguars made quick work of the James Valley Christian Lady Vikings Thursday night, downing the Lady Vikes 3-0 (25-12, 25-6, 25-17) in non-conference volleyball.

Braylee Bordewyk filled the stat sheet for the Jags, with 10 aces, seven kills, 14 assists and a pair of blocks in the match. Sophie DeLange also had seven kills and added six assists, while Cali Vanden Hoek had seven digs and four aces and Cadyn Plooster added three aces.

JVC got two kills and an ace from Ella Anderson, while both Nave Gross and Darah Olawu-Davies each had two assists.

JVC (0-3) plays at Howard on Monday.

Ipswich 3, Sunshine Bible Academy 0
MILLER — The Ipswich Tigers improved to 3-1 on the season Thursday night, with a 3-0 win over the Sunshine Bible Academy Crusaders in non-conference volleyball action. Set scores for the Tigers were 25-17, 25-17 and 25-15.

Marley Guthmiller led the Ipswich offense with 15 kills and added 25 digs in the match, while Jaydin Stiles had six aces and Josie Knutson added five aces. Reaghan Bowers had 36 digs for Ipswich.

The Crusaders, now 0-3, got two kills and a block from Soleil Mickelson and three aces from Dakota Boersma.

SBA will play in the Wolsey-Wessington Invitational Tournament on Saturday.

De Smet 3, Deuel 0
DE SMET — The De Smet Bulldogs ran over the Deuel Cardinals in straight sets Tuesday night, 25-13, 25-13, 25-13, in non-conference volleyball action.

De Smet was led by Hazel Luethmers’ 14 kills and three blocks, while Mirra Beck added 10 kills. Megan Dylla had 31 set assists in the match and Aubree Blue led the defense with 10 digs.

For Deuel, winless at 0-5, Alayna Carlson had seven kills, two aces and two blocks. Three Cardinal setters shared 12 assists and Addison Timmons had 11 digs.

De Smet, now 2-3, plays Saturday in the Clark-Willow Lake tournament.
