City street work begins today

HURON — Work will begin today - weather permitting - the City of Huron Street Department will FOG seal various streets in town.

Here is a list of locations that are affected:
• Nebraska Ave., NW, from Highway 14 to 5th St.
• 9th St. NE: Kansas Ave. to Beach Ave.
• Center Street: From Lincoln to Nicollet Ave.
• Mellette Ave.: From Center St. to 1st St., and from from 3rd St. to 5th St.
• First St. SW: From Illinois to Nevada.

• Second St. SW: From Illinois to Nevada.
Illinois Ave. SW: From Market to 3r • d St.
• Ohio Ave. SW: Market to 6th St.
• Nebraska Ave. SW: Market to 3rd.
• Colorado Ave. SW: Market to 4th.
• Montana Ave. SW: Market to 3rd.
• Wyoming Ave. SW: 1st to 3rd.
• California Ave. SW: 5th to 7th.
• Oregon Ave. SW: 5th to 7th.
• Sixth St. SE: Oregon to Idaho
• Kansas Ave. SE: 22nd to 26th.

No traffic is allowed on the wet oil surface following the FOG seal, for a minimum of an hour and a half after the application. The streets are required to be closed to all traffic during this time and ‘No Parking’ signs will be in place as the crew progresses.
