Rollin Walter of Iroquois was recently recognized for his 40 years of service to the City of Iroquois.
Walter was presented a plaque for his service, by The South Dakota Water and Wastewater Association.
“This was supposed to be a fill-in job,” Walter joked of his longevity.
“I remember that I was on the city council in Iroquois and we were having problems finding a person to fill the water position, so I said I would give it a try, just to keep it running. And then here we are 40 years later.”
