PIERRE — The Pierre Governors eighth grade football team defeated the Huron Tigers 32-28 on Tuesday.
Josh Gilbert had a big day at quarterback for Huron, completing 8 of 13 passes for 143 yards, three touchdowns and one interception. Gilbert also rushed 15 times for 123 yards.
Carter Porisch made seven catches for 110 yards and caught three touchdown passes. He also ran for 55 yards on six carries. Angel Sierra Rodriguez toted the ball nine times for 57 yards.
On defense, Porisch led the way with 13 tackles and five sacks. Gilbert added seven tackles.
The Tigers will host Mitchell on Tuesday.
