Sleep in Heavenly Peace bed build held in Woonsocket

Posted

Santel Communication sponsored a bed build for Sleep in Heavenly Peace on Feb. 26.

Santel’s employees and the shop class from Woonsocket High School volunteered to do the work that it takes to complete the components for the beds. Santel, in additional to offering a place to do the build and getting all the volunteers in place, made a donation to SHP.

Their support in helping reach its goal of “No Kid Sleeps on the  Floor in Our Town,” shows how Santel Communication supports the communities they serve.

Sleep in Heavenly Peace is a registered 501c3 non profit serving children in need of beds. It was founded in Kimberly, Idaho in 2012. SHP is the only charity providing hand-made bunk beds to children who don’t have beds of their own. Not only does the organization deliver these beds to kids in need it partners with organizations, churches, businesses and individuals to build them at events called “Build Days”.

The Huron Chapter was formed in April of 2023 and has delivered 169 beds in the area.  Because of the need for beds they will be holding a “Build Day” on March 16th starting at 9 a.m., the build will be at 191 Union Ave. N.W., which is the spec building of Greater Huron Development.
