Sleep in Heavenly Peace delivers for holidays

HURON — The Sleep in Heavenly Peace, Huron Chapter, participated in the national “Delivery Beds Across America” on Dec. 9. Delivery Across America is a national day set aside by Sleep in Heavenly Peace to coordinate bed delivery to those who are in need.

This year, the national goal was the delivery of 2,000 beds, with the assistance of more than 4,000 volunteers.

The Huron volunteers delivered 12 beds that day, pushing their total since the chapter was recognized earlier this year to 116 beds.

An additional delivery of eight more beds was made on Dec. 23, just in time for Christmas.

More are in need, so Saturday, Jan. 20, 2024, has been scheduled for the chapter’s next bed build day, at 191 Union Ave, the Greater Huron Spec Building in the West Industrial Park. Volunteers are asked to arrive by 9:45 a.m., for a 10 a.m. start. Please reach out to Barbara Lorenz by email barbara.lorenz@shpbeds.org for additional questions or to volunteer.
