SIOUX FALLS — Betty Jean Mincer, 84, of Sioux Falls, passed away Friday, July 6, 2018.
A private family service will be held to celebrate Betty’s life and her reunion with her husband, Bob.
Betty was born June 29, 1934, near Ruthven, Iowa to Cloyd and Ethyl (Beddow) Umbrell. She graduated from Spencer High School in 1952. After high school, she attended Northwest Institute of Medical Technology, graduating in 1953.
She was united in marriage to Robert (Bob) Mincer in 1954. The couple spent considerable time in Huron, Spencer, Iowa, and Sioux Falls during their 62 years of marriage. She loved caring for her children and grandchildren, cooking, and making her house a home. Our hope is that we can carry-on her focus on family, caring for others, and religion.
She is survived by her children, Tim Mincer of Ft. Lupton, Colo., Mike (Val) Mincer of Mandan, N.D., Pat (Sydney) Mincer of Lakewood, Colo., and Pam (Lon) Tiggelaar of Sioux Falls; her sister, Sharon Arndt of Spencer, Iowa; seven grandchildren, Stacey (Troy) Ahmann of Bismarck, N.D., Wes (Joy) Mincer of Minot, N.D., Ben (Murphy) Tiggelaar of Austin, Texas, Derek Tiggelaar of New York City, N.Y., Lisa Tiggelaar of Sioux Falls, Noah Mincer, and Ian Mincer both of Lakewood, Colo.; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bob in 2017; and daughter-in-law, Yvonne (Tim) Mincer.
