HURON — The Sanborn Central-Woonsocket Blackhawks overcame a fourth-quarter deficit, putting five players in double figures and using an overall team effort to defeat the James Valley Christian Vikings 62-55 in 281 Conference boys’ basketball action Thursday night at the JVC gym.
Noah Dickson scored 14 points, both Jared Goldammer and Tater Moody added 12, while Trey Weber and Trent Kingsbury both notched 11 for the Blackhawks, who move to 6-2 with the win. Kingsbury also had nine rebounds, Moody had eight and Weber passed out nine assists.
James Valley Christian got a game-high 26 points from Michael Waldner and Braden Held came off the bench to score 13. Darrian Hood contributed eight rebounds and Ryan Wager had seven assists.
The Vikings, now 2-7 on the season, will open 281 Conference Tournament play against Hitchcock-Tulare on Saturday, while the Blackhawks will play Sunshine Bible Academy in the first round of the tournament on Saturday as well.
