Huron dance team third in own invitational

HURON — The Huron dance team claimed third place after solid performances that boosted the team score to a total of 254.83, during the home invitational for the Tigers on Tuesday at the Arena.
Sioux Falls Washington recorded a team score of 278.33 to take the title of grand champion dance team, to edge out Brandon Valley into second place, totaling a team score of 259.83.
Huron’s hip hop routine tallied 277.5 points to take second in the division, as Sioux Falls Washington scored five points more than the Tigers, totaling 282.5 in first place.
First in Pom was also claimed by SF Washington with 281, as Huron finished fourth with a score 248.5, also falling behind Brandon Valley in second and Harrisburg in third.

A fourth place spot was also assigned to Huron in Jazz, with 238.5 scored for the routine. Brandon Valley were first placers in the Jazz category totaling 276.5, SF Washington were second and Harrisburg took third.
In Cheer the Huron girls’ placed sixth, as the team tallied 212.50 at the invitational on Tuesday.
Brandon Valley’s cheer team escaped with 247.50 to take first place, SF Washington scored 233.50 in second place, while a score of 224.50 put Brookings in third place for cheer.
Brandon Valley are set to host its cheer and dance invitational at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 2, when the Huron girls will return for more exciting routines.
