HARRISBURG — The Aberdeen Central Golden Eagles swept the Yankton Gazelle’s for first place in the ESD Girls’ Golf Conference Meet, held Thursday morning at the Spring Creek Country Club in Harrisburg.
Aberdeen’s Sydney Wirebaugh escaped with the first individual players spot with 73 strokes, followed by Cassidy Gough at 75 also for the Golden Eagles. In third place was Brandon Valley’s Liz Duncan with 76 strokes, Peyton Tramp from Yankton took fourth with 78, while three players tied for fifth including Morgan Stahl from Yankton, Danielle Podoll and Brooklyn Hofer, both from Aberdeen Cetntral, with 79 strokes.
Aberdeen Central totaled 306 to take the team title, Yankton had 335 in second, followed by Pierre with 345 strokes in third place, while Brandon Valley was one stroke away with 346 to take fourth.
Huron tallied 376 as a team, which landed the Tigers in eighth place at the conference. Kenya Bigelow led Huron with 87 strokes, which placed her 15th, while Karlie Bigelow totaled 92 to tie for 24th. Jayda Shillingstad had 98 strokes and tied for 37th, while Bryn Huber tied for 41st place with 99.
