HURON — Gloria Jean King, 72, lost her nearly lifelong battle with diabetes on April 12, 2024, at Rapid City Monument Hospital.
Gloria was born to Raymond and Wanda King on August 7, 1951 in Huron. She lived most of her life in Huron. She loved sewing, crafting, doing hair, cooking, and camping. She once worked as a seamstress for a dry cleaners in Huron. She loved cats and had several over the years. Her last Christmas kitty, Holly, misses her already.
Gloria was blessed with three children. Teresa Sieck (Roger}, Anthony King, and Patrick King. She loved any time with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchild.
Gloria is survived by her partner of 17 years, Jose Torres Hernandez, son Patrick, sister Bernadean McGee, brother Tyrone Thompson, son-in-law Roger Sieck, 6 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild, one nephew, one niece, and several cousins. Gloria will be missed by all.
Gloria was preceded in death by her great-aunt Esther Steever, who she called Mom, her parents, brother, Tony King, son, Anthony King, daughter, Teresa Sieck, and grandson, Teryn Bartunek.
