HRMC honors Herman as Beyond Exceptional Employee

HURON –– Huron Regional Medical Center (HRMC) recently recognized Naomi Herman with the Beyond Exceptional Everyday (BEE) Award.
Herman works as a housekeeper at HRMC, cleaning both office spaces and patient care areas of the hospital, following both safety and regulatory procedures. She was nominated for the award by a colleague who shared, “She always greets our department with a smiling face and a positive attitude. Naomi has done more deep cleaning in our area than any housekeeper we have ever had. She stays on top of everything we ask of her and always has a smile while doing it. Whether it’s the bathrooms, hallways, stairs, or anywhere she notices even a speck of dust, she immediately gets to work. Everything always smells so fresh and clean when she is finished. She consistently brings a positive attitude and is always willing to help wherever and whenever needed. She has been a wonderful addition to the HRMC team, and we are lucky to have her.”
Herman finds motivation and purpose in her work in housekeeping. “What I like most about my job is that it’s a motivation to help me keep moving forward in life.”
HRMC’s BEE Award recognizes employees who go above and beyond to demonstrate the hospital’s core values of REACH by being respectful, engaged, available, competent, and helpful. Employees can be nominated by fellow coworkers or by patients or visitors who witness exceptional service. A committee of employees from various hospital departments select the BEE Award honoree on a quarterly basis.
As BEE Award recipient, Herman received a meal certificate to a local restaurant, a professional photo session, $50, and a lapel pin.
Upon receiving the award, Herman expressed, “I was shocked and couldn’t think. I felt amazingly appreciated.”
Herman has lived in Huron for four years without family nearby, but through her coworkers, she has found a sense of family and belonging. Her hobbies include frisbee golf, singing, dancing, and most importantly, connecting with others.
