Cyclone girls score top-10 finish at Class A track meet

SIOUX FALLS — Clark/Willow Lake recorded a top-10 finish in the final Class A girls’ standings at the Class A State Track and Field Meet, which concluded Saturday at Howard Wood Field.

The Cyclones amassed 25 points during the three-day event.

Sioux Falls Christian used 178 points to claim the Class A girls’ title, while Lennox was second with 100. Rounding out the top five in the girls’ standings were Dakota Valley at 58.83, Elk Point-Jefferson at 47 and Custer at 36.

Senior Cadence Bochek was fifth for Clark/Willow Lake in the 400-meter run finals with a time of 1:00.39, while sophomore Kamryn Nesheim was eighth for the Cyclones in the 1,600 run at 5:17.82.

Bochek and Nesheim teamed with sophomore Emma Bochek and freshman Jennifer Bevers to finish eight for Clark/Willow Lake in the 1,600 relay finals at 4:11.20.

Senior Isaak Hunter turned in a season-best time of 15.21 seconds to finish fourth in the Class A boys’ 110 hurdles for Miller on Saturday. He shaved .33 seconds off his qualifying time to improve two spots in the standings.

Sioux Falls Christian also won the boys’ title in Class A with 110 points, while Lennox was second at 78.5. Hill City was third at 64, followed by Vermillion at 51 and Madison at 48.

Miller finished tied for 26th with five points, while Clark/Willow Lake had three points and shared the 34th spot.
