BROOKINGS — Brookings recorded a sweep against Huron in varsity soccer on Monday.
The Bobcats escaped with a 2-1 win in the boys’ game and posted a 7-1 win in the girls’ game.
Huron boys’ coach Megan Wilson believes the Tigers let a victory slip out of their grips against the Bobcats.
“We outplayed Brookings today.,” Wilson said. “We just could not finish our shots. We had 13 shots on goal and only finished one.
“I believe we outplayed and outpossessed Brookings,” she said. “It’s a huge improvement fron last year, but we still have a lot to improve on.”
The victory kept Brookings undefeated with a 2-0-1 record. Huron is now 2-2 and will host Spearfish at 6 p.m. Friday at Tiger Stadium.
Nightin Day scored the lone goal for Huron in the girls’ game, with Fatima Reyes being credited with the assist.
