HACA excited for 2020-2021 season

Local concert association looks ahead to 50th season

Posted

Huron Area Concert Association (HACA) is cautiously preparing for its 2020-2021 season. The COVID-19 pandemic sadly forced HACA to cancel the final two performances of last season. It was a difficult decision for everyone involved, but it was made with the safety and health concerns of patrons and performers in mind.

The new season is tentatively set to begin in September when the rescheduled very popular Prime Time Trio will perform. Other performances throughout the season include a sister duo performing American standards, an Andrews Sisters style program performing hits from the “Greatest Generation,” a family-friendly comedy and magic act, and a male vocal group from New York. A Christian family has expressed interest in performing and negotiations are underway.

HACA will continue to monitor area, regional, and state fine arts events, along with guidance from the CDC and local/state officials to determine when large gatherings will once again be safe. Because they are concerned about the health of patrons, it is vitally important to present the safest and healthiest environment in which to enjoy performances. The next membership sales campaign is cautiously set to begin in August.

Huron Area Concert Association is very appreciative of those patrons and business partners who have faithfully supported HACA in the past. They look forward to that continued support when this pandemic finally subsides. Huron and area residents have performed admirably in maintaining social distancing and staying safe inside their homes.

It has been said “After silence, that which comes nearest to expressing the inexpressible is music.” And Hans Christian Andersen said, “Where words fail, music speaks.”

Allied Concert Services, Inc. will continue to provide guidance to HACA and over 100 similar associations they manage. It will also depend on whether Huron High School will be in session. HACA will be celebrating its 50th Anniversary season in  2021-2022 with a stellar lineup of concerts and special events.

Further updates will be provided as decisions are made. Even as President Trump has urged that schools must re-open in September, the HACA will not put its patrons in an unsafe situation.
