To the Editor:
American voters need to vote against all candidates who do not vote to raise the debt ceiling now.
Congress raised the debt ceiling several times when Donald Trump was president. They didn’t then require a bunch of spending limits. The Republican Congress needs to straighten out and do the right thing for America and raise the debt ceiling now. They need to quit being so partisan.
Be sure you are registered to vote and then vote out every Congressman or woman who does not vote to raise the debt ceiling.
We also need to vote against every presidential candidate who is opposed to raising the debt ceiling. Period. In other words, without requiring President Biden to agree to future cuts before raising the debt ceiling.
Raising the debt ceiling now only allows us to pay our debts that have already been approved. Raise the debt ceiling now and then consider future cuts.
Republicans need to start doing what’s right for America. This is serious.
Americans especially need to vote out House Speaker Kevin McCarthy, for holding America hostage by refusing to raise the debt ceiling. Vote to save the national and global economy. This is the the most important issue there is. Next week, you will realize this if Congress doesn’t step up and do the right thing now.
By voting time it will be too late, but we need to let these Congressional people who have no conscience know that they will be held accountable.
They will lose their jobs.
