SAINT MICHAEL, Minn. — After suffering just its second loss of the season, the Miller volleyball team rebounded with four straight wins to finish ninth in the St. Michael-Albertville Fall Classic, which included 31 teams, on Saturday.
River Falls used set wins of 25-13 and 25-21 to get past the Rustlers in their opening match of the event.
Miller then recorded back-to-back set wins of 25-14 to defeat St. Paul Academy-Summit. Then defeated Hutchinson 26-24, 20-25 and 15-12, before edging Chanhassen 26-24, 23-25 and 16-14 to reach the ninth-place match.
The Rustlers swept Elk River 26-24 and 25-21 in their final match.
Kadye Fernholz was named to the All-Tournament MVP team for Miller, which is now 20-2.
The Rustlers, who are currently ranked second in Class A, hosted Kimball/White Lake on Monday and will face Platte-Geddes today in Platte.
