BRITTON — The Britton-Hecla Braves pushed their season mark to 9-2 Thursday night, with a 3-0 defeat of the Redfield Pheasants in volleyball action.
Set scores for the Braves were 252-20, 25-14 and 25-16.
Abby lee had 13 of the Braves’ 35 kills and added three blocks on the night, while Jaelee Grupe added seven kills. Heather Storbakken had 21 assists and five aces in the match, while Daynika Zuehlke led the defense with 22 digs.
The Pheasnts were led by Ceci Suchor’s 5 kills, while Haden Gall had 22 assists and an ace in the match.
Redfield, which falls to 3-9 with the loss, hosts Miller on Tuesday.

Groton Area 3, Clark/Willow Lake 0
GROTON — The Groton Area Tigers were pushed in the opening set, but persevered and came away with a 3-0 win over the Clark/Willow Lake Cyclones Thursday night in non-conference volleyball action. Set scores for the Tigers were27-25, 25-15, 25-22. The Tigers improve to 5-1
The Cyclones were led by Shelby Begeman’s eight kills and two blocks, while Hannah Heiman added seven kills and Shay Michalski chipped in six. Kate Larson had 11 digs and Avery Lee had nine digs and an ace. Sami Brenden had 19 assists for Clark/Willow Lake.
The Cyclones, 8-4, are off until Thursday, when they host Deuel in Willow Lake.

Sioux Valley 3, De Smet 1
DE SMET — Sioux Valley improved to 9-1 and remained undefeated in the Dakota Valley Conference with a 3-1 victory against De Smet on Tuesday.
The Cossacks won the match with set scores of 25-17, 23-25, 25-18 and 25-16.
Kaedyn Sapp had 22 kills, seven ace serves and 21 digs to lead Sioux Valley to the victory. Adism Renkly had 10 kills for the Cossacks, while Keyra Kruse and Lacey Langland each had six kills. Langland also had three aces.
Sunny Hesby and Machaela Gerasch each had 24 assists for Sioux Falls, while Caitlin Russell and Emma Garvin had 19 and 12 digs, respectively.
Hazel Luethmers led De Smet with 17 kills, five blocks and 13 digs. Mirra Beck had a pair of ace serves to go along with six kills, and a block.
Megan Dylla finished with a team-high 25 assists and had 10 digs for the Lady Bulldogs.
Brooke Jennings had three kills and a block, while Aubree Blue added nine digs.
De Smet will play at the Iroquois/Lake Preston Tournament on Saturday in Lake Preston. The Lady Bulldogs will face Estelline/Hendricks at 9 a.m.


Potter County 3, Highmore-Harrold 2
HIGHMORE — Potter County used a 15-13 win in the fifth set to get past Highmore-Harrold on Tuesday.
After winning the opening set 25-20, the Pirates staved off defeat with a 25-18 victory in the fourth set. Potter County used 25-13 and 25-19 wins to take a 2-1 lead in the match.
Addison McDonnell converted on 43 of 54 attacks and had 14 kills to lead Highmore-Harrold. Jada Baloun was 37 of 46 hitting with nine kills, while recording four solo and an assisted block.
Brooklyn Baloun was perfect on 13 serves with an ace and was 95 of 98 setting with 21 assists for the Pirates, while Jada Baloun was 13 of 14 serving. Callie Chavez and Lainee Ping finished with 24 and 21 digs, respectively, while Brooklyn Baloun had 20 digs.
Potter County also won the junior varsity match 3-2.
